In case you missed it, Senator Sheldon WhiteHouse (D-RI) gave all of us a masterclass in tracking and exposing the filthy Dark $$$ and hidden power players behind the GOP rush to fill Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat with Right wing judicial neophyte Amy Coney Barrett.
Sen. whiteHouse’s presentation, complete with poster board visual guides revealed the incestuous relationship between the Federalist Society’s agenda for shoving judicial candidates from their master list through Congress onto the courts, and the groups curating and fast tracking cases through those courts all the way to the Supreme Court, as well as those groups filing amici in support of those cases.
He noted the eye-popping success rate of their strategy in getting 5-4 verdicts on 80-0 of those cases that were taken all the way to the Supreme Court—all cases advancing specific interests (Eg Kochs & fossil fuel cabal) — from weakening Voting Rights, to dismantling environmental protections.
When the camera cutaway to Amy Coney Barrett you could see some level of apprehension despite putting on an opaque face, as she realized, the game behind her “selection” is nakedly open to us all.
Sen. WhiteHouse’s exposition will leave you seething. It did me. And I say, we BALANCE the Courts when we get power, otherwise we’ll be drowned under judicial tyranny of a minority funded by a coterie of oligarchs and plutocrats hellbent on re-feudalizing this country. No. We dilute and demolish their power.
